Located on the south end of Saone-et-Loire in Bourgogne-Franche-Comté, this little village is a good place to live. Vines with the renowned appellations line the village: Saint-Véran, Pouilly-Fuisse or Viré-Clesse. 2/ The ascent of the two Rocks

The Rocks of Solutré and Vergisson are famous sites of South Burgundy. They have been classified Grand Site de France in 2013. These limestone escarpments with an altitude of 493m and 483m were formed over several million years before our era. The Rock of Solutre is full of marine creature fossils like molluscs, shellfish or crinoids. Archeological discoveries made on the site have led the creation of the museum of prehistory embedded in the rock. Enriched by your visit of the museum you can climb on the top of the Rock to see an overview of the Maconnais. You can see the horses of the breed konik polski that reminded their prehistoric ancestors and maintain the protected and classified Zone Natura 2000 limestone prairies.

4/ The city of Macon

The city of Macon, the capital of the Maconnais, is located just a few kilometers from Davaye. Settled by the Saone, the city offers a quiet walk on the docks. The heritage of Macon is rich luxurious past. The church of Saint-Pierre and the Pont de Saint-Laurent are famous buildings, which the city takes care of. Many activities wait for you in the city. 9/ The Caves of Aze
