Mâcon La Roche Vineuse
Sur le Fil
AOP Mâcon-Villages La Roche Vineuse Sur le Fil
Between two terroirs, a Chardonnay of rare opulence
Born from the encounter between old limestone vines and young clay plots, this Mâcon reveals a strong personality. An intense golden wine with aromas of vine flowers, an opulent structure and the noble expression of Chardonnay.
TERROIR
2024 vintage
The Mâcon-la-Roche-Vineuse appellation is bordered to the west by the stream known as “Le Fil,” which forms the boundary with the Saint Véran appellation, and by Gros Mont to the east. Within this area, our vineyards are located in Hurigny and Chevagny-les-Chevrières, which have two very distinct geological profiles. The first is a vineyard of old vines on a large east-facing plateau with predominantly limestone soils, and the second is a superb amphitheater-shaped valley with more clayey soils planted with young vines.
At the level of
wine-making
After harvesting, the grapes are transported by gravity to the pneumatic presses. Pressing is a long and slow process to ensure gentle extraction of the juice and preserve its aromatic finesse. The must obtained is cooled and decanted. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats and 30% in barrels (less than 10% new). Malolactic fermentation is carried out or not, depending on the vintage. The wine is then aged on fine lees until spring. From harvest to bottling, we limit the use of inputs such as SO2 as much as possible.
100% CHARDONNAY
For the
Tasting
With a magnificent deep, intense golden color, it offers the heady scent of vine flowers balanced by the freshness of white pepper. On the palate, the opulent, rich, and chewy structure enhances the floral and fruity expression of this brilliant and noble Chardonnay.
