AOP Saint-Véran Tradition

The estate’s historic wine, created in 1983

The first wine produced at Les Deux Roches, this Saint-Véran Tradition embodies the soul of the Jura terroir between Les Roches de Solutré and Vergisson. A Chardonnay that is both rich and lively, with delicate floral notes and assertive minerality.

TERROIR

2024 vintage

This cuvée is a selection of plots located in the heart of the Saint-Véran appellation, around Davayé, near the Roches de Solutré and Vergisson. These chalky soils dating back to the Jurassic period are perfect for bringing out the best in Chardonnay. A rich and ripe Saint-Véran, full of liveliness. Its great character and beautiful typicity are unanimously appreciated. It was the first wine produced at Les Deux Roches in 1983.

At the level of

wine-making

After harvesting, the grapes are loaded by gravity into pneumatic presses. Pressing is slow and lengthy in order to gently extract the juice and thus preserve the aromatic finesse. The musts are then cooled and decanted. Vinification takes place in temperature-controlled stainless steel vats. Depending on the vintage, malolactic fermentation may or may not be desired. Aging takes place on fine lees until spring. From harvest to bottling, we limit the use of additives such as SO2 as much as possible.

100% CHARDONNAY

For the

Tasting

Dressed in liquid gold, this cuvée exudes a floral aroma reminiscent of honeysuckle and acacia blossoms. On the palate, the juice is both firm and rich, with a round, finely structured, and mineral attack. The lingering finish is carried by sweet bitter citrus notes.
